We offer non-paid internships for a few BRAVEmakers. Could that be you? We have summer and year-long internships available. Why apply? It’s fun and it’s a great way to learn the ins and outs of the film industry. Do you need college credit? Look into your university’s policies to see if it could work for you.
A BraveMaker internship will give you first hand knowledge of the filmmaking process. You’ll get experience screenwriting, developing, budgeting, pre-production, directing, producing, filming, editing, doing social media and more! We have office and studio space in Redwood City, California but we will do work all up and down the peninsula from SF to San Jose and a lot of work can be done remote, too. We have interns from New York, Chicago, Austin and Colorado.

During in person working hours the summer, interns need to be available to come into the office least one day a week, 10am-5pm and we would prefer two days. More can be arranged depending on the intern's schedule.
At BraveMaker we believe making films is one of the best ways to learn how to make films.  Meet BraveMaker’s executive director Tony Gapastione (Bio below).

Tony has been acting in the Bay Area for twenty-five years and for the past five writing, directing, and producing his own films. Check out his website for more info.

He wrote/directed and produced a feature film, Last Chance Charlene (available wherever you rent films online) and is developing and fundraising for more feature and short films as well as hosts monthly film screenings with filmmakers. He launched BRAVEMAKER, an organization focused on making provocative, life changing media, as a film (non-profit) company from the ground up. If selected, you get to join the movement help continue to grow and expand our efforts.
We have a large group of filmmakers who are banding together to create and make the Bay Area a place where filmmakers can both live and work! You can check out our new podcast on Apple, Stitcher, or Spotify where we interview creators on their work and process. Click here: BraveMaker podcast.

Being on set and making films is a great way to learn how to make movies. During your internship we will be doing lots of short film work, docs, story videos, producing podcasts, hosting livestream shows and preparing for our annual BraveMaker Film Fest.

The hours can be flexible (you can do editing work from home at at night) and you need to have your own transportation. Shooting and editing knowledge and experience a plus but a willingness to learn, work hard and be fun to work with is non-negotiable. (Start/End dates flexible for UC students and/or High School students). Watch this video from our first summer crew.
