New short film announcement!
Currently in its second season, BraveMaker Academy is set for a September 2024 production. Each year, (called seasons to mirror the style of television), the BraveMaker Academy hosts four sessions (called episodes), for actors and filmmakers. During each episode they write, produce and direct an original short film in which both actors and filmmakers receive training and real on set experience. Not only is this a hands on film experience in front and behind the camera, participants receive a finished short film which they can use to showcase their work. The film is also screened at the BraveMaker Film Fest where they get a red carpet experience and the ability to showcase their work to family and friends. Not to mention the opportunity to see themselves on the big screen… and IMDb credit.
“Sorry to Dump this on You,” will be produced, written and directed by Tony Gapastione and co-directed by Rebecca Martinez. Olga Khludneva is the director of photography and the film will be edited by Jessica Cohen. The rest of the production team is still being assembled. The short is inspired by the improv style of Larry David’s, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The story revolves around a bumbling group of alien hunters who find themselves wrapped up in a swap meet beef between competitive vendors hocking vintage clothing. What could go wrong? Lots let’s hope!
